This 10-week project prioritized sustainability
One of the world’s most respected educational institutions commissioned Mercury & Phillips Signs to work alongside them at their Cambridge International Headquarters Triangle Building.
Mercury & Phillips Signs played a key role within the whole project to update all signage to the new corporate identity over a 12-month period.
Within the project, a large porcelain feature wall, measuring some 21.3 metres by 3.4 metres needed to be over clad with the new logo embedded within and the desire to fully illuminate.
The professional services of Griib Design of Norwich were sought to help realise the constraints of the project.
Within both the clients and our commitment to reducing our environmental impact, it was of the utmost importance that as much of the project as possible came from recycled or 100% recyclable materials.
To this end, we selected to use Grey Mist, supplied by Smile Plastics. This product is manufactured from single use plastics such as yoghurt pots, normally destined for landfill.
The sheets of recycled material were fabricated into hollow trays at only 40mm deep which in turn housed RGB LED light sheets to create illumination to the new image.
The whole project took 10 weeks to manufacture and install, with all work being undertaken by our dedicated in-house team.
Manufacturing Partner, Jason Hollidge had this to say about the project.
“This was an exciting project to be involved with from concept and design to final commission. Our in-house team should be proud of themselves, and I couldn’t ask for a better group of dedicated staff.”
